Amy O’Dea didn’t want to work at a hospice（临终安养院） at the beginning. But now, she feels lucky to work in it. Amy joined Passages Hospice in 2011. She works as the Volunteer Coordinator（协调人）there. “This job allows me to recruit（吸收）volunteers, work with the older population and feel the love in our world,” Amy says.

Volunteers at Passages Hospice spend an hour a week visiting the patients. They talk, watch television, listen to music, go out for a walk and do almost everything the patients want to do. “You name it, our volunteers do it,” says Amy. Some volunteers bring their dogs with them on their visits.
