摘要：The invention relates to a velocity determination apparatus for determining arelative velocity between a first object (), to which the velocity determination apparatus isattachable, and a second object (). The velocity determination apparatus comprises a

laser () having a laser cavity () for emitting first radiation (), which is reflected by thesecond object (), wherein the reflected radiation interferes with the first radiation () withinthe laser cavity (). An interference signal detector () detects an interference signaldepending on the interference within the laser cavity () and a velocity determination unit() determines the relative velocity based on the interference signal. A reliability valuedetermination unit () determines a reliability value for indicating the reliability of thedetermined relative velocity based on at least one of the group consisting of thedetected interference signal, the determined relative velocity and a characteristic of thelaser.
