Period 4 Listening and Talking

教材分析

该板块的活动主题是“谈论太空中的生活”(Talk about life in space)。关于太空的独特环境、不断发展的太空科技,以及宇航员在太空生活所面临的挑战,都是值得探讨的问题。学生通过这个板块的学习可以了解到宇航员在太空生活的一些细节,这些细节会勾起学生的好奇心,促使他们展开想象,怀着强烈的学习欲望去探究与太空生活有关的更多问题。

教学过程

Step 1 Warming-up

1. What will you bring if you go to space?

设计意图:引导学生思考,引出话题,激活背景知识。

Step 2 Pre-listening

1. Work on Activity 1. Before you listen, look at the pictures below and guess whether they would be useful for astronauts in space Can it be easily carried to space? Can it be easily used in space?

Are there other alternatives to these items which might be more practical? If so, what are they? 设计意图:引导学生根据图片和所列问题,预测听力对话的内容。

Step 3 While-listening

1. Work on Activity 2. Max is interviewing Captain Brown about his life in space. Listen to the interview and answer the questions.

2. Listen to the interview again and answer the questions. What do astronauts usually do with the toothpaste? How long did Captain Brown stay in space?

Why was there a guitar on the International Space Station? 设计意图:引导学生掌握捕捉关键信息的能力。

Step 4 Post-listening

Work on Activity 3. Work in groups. Imagine you are going to a space camp and Captain Brown has been invited to give a talk. Discuss the questions you would like to ask him and then make a list.

设计意图:通过问题启发学生,引出下面活动。

Step 5 Talking

1. During your conversation, how to show your curiosity and interest? 设计意图:引导学生掌握表达好奇心的句式。

2. Work in groups. Imagine you are going to a space camp and Captain Brown has been invited to give a talk. Discuss the questions you would like to ask him and then make a list. 设计意图:引导学生运用在对话中合理使用表达好奇心的句式。

Step 5 Assignment

Write Captain Brown an E-mail in the name of the class. Specific points should include:

(1) Everyone is looking forward to the space summer camp and seeing him;

(2) Everyone is very interested in the space life of astronauts and asks some questions they most want to know;

(3) We hope you can answer these questions in the lecture.

设计意图:汇总本课所学新知,引导学生用写的形式加深理解和记忆。
