Book Report of the Life of Samuel Johnson
This article presents Johnson decisiveness, braveness, wits. He is full of passion to life. When he is neglected by Chesterfield ,he leaves there indignantly, When he needs help desperately, Chesterfield does not do a favor for him. When the great success is approaching to Johnson, he refuses the Lord’s compliments directly. Because he knows that Chesterfield does not want to support him from the bottom of his heart. Maybe the neglect from Chesterfield stimulates Johnson to make breakthrough. He can just rely on himself and find the way to solve the trouble he met.Then Johnson make it ---his masterpiece(The Dictionary).I admire Johnson because he has the courage to challenge the authority-- Lord Chesterfield.From this article,we can jump the conclusion that we should learn to say “no” not just be a goody-goody man under some circumstances.On the other hand,when others can not do us a favor,we also entertain an appreciative heart to them because they behave just having their own reasons.
