摘要:A method for manufacturing a honeycomb structure having a low pressure lossand a high strength includes preparing a material composition containing a silicon carbidepowder, a binder and an additive; molding the material composition to manufacture apillar-shaped honeycomb body molded having cells disposed in parallel with one anotherand in a longitudinal direction; carrying out a degreasing treatment on the honeycombmolded; and carrying out a firing treatment on the honeycomb degreased body tomanufacture a honeycomb fired body. The silicon carbide powder of the materialcomposition contains a silicon carbide coarse powder and a silicon carbide fine powderhaving an average particle diameter (D50) smaller than that of the silicon carbide coarsepowder, and the additive contains a metal oxide power. An amount of the metal oxidepowder in the material composition is in the range of about 0.8 to about 4.0% by weight.
