Finally, I believe that tutoring programs can be counterproductive. When I am in a tutoring session, I am not actually learning how to think for myself. I am simply being spoon-fed information. This makes me dependent on my tutor, and it does not help me to develop the critical thinking skills that I need to succeed in college. I also find that I am more likely to forget the information that I learn in tutoring sessions than the information that I learn in my regular classes.
