1.Scope*

1.1Thisspecificationestablishestherequirementsforphos-phorbronzerod,bar,andshapes.

5.2Manufacture:

5.2.1Theproductshallbemanufacturedbysuchhot-working,cold-working,andannealingprocessesastoproduceauniformwroughtstructureinthefinishedproduct.

5.2.2Theproductshallbehotorcoldworkedtothefinishedsizeandsubsequentlyannealed,whenrequired,tomeetthetemperpropertiesspecified.

6.ChemicalComposition

6.1Thematerialshallconformtothecompositionrequire-mentsspecifiedinTable1fortheCopperAlloyUNSNo.designationnamedintheorderinginformation.

6.1.1Thesecompositionlimitsdonotprecludethepresenceofotherelements.Whenrequired,limitsshallbeestablishedandanalysisrequiredforunnamedelementsbyagreementbetweenthemanufacturerandthepurchaser.

6.2Coppermaybetakenasthedifferencebetweenthesumofallelementsanalyzedand100%.

6.3WhenallelementsspecifiedinTable1fortheCopperAlloyUNSNo.namedintheorderinginformationaredeter-mined,thesumofresultsshallbe99.5%min.

7.Temper

7.1RodandBar:

7.1.1ThestandardtempersforrodandbarproducedunderthisspecificationareidentifiedinTable2orTable3.7.2Shapes:

7.2.1Thetemperforshapesissubjecttoagreementbetweenthemanufacturerandthepurchaserandtheagreementshallbeapartofthecontractorpurchaseorder.
