Bullying(欺凌)Survival Tips

Here are some things you can do to deal with bullying. They’re also good tips to share with a friend as a way to show your support:

Hold the anger. Who doesn’t get really upset with a bully? 1 If you’re in a situation where you have to deal with a bully and you can’t walk away, use humor — it can throw the bully

2

off guard. Work out your anger in another way, such as through exercise or writing it down. Don’t get physical. However you choose to deal with a bully, don’t use physical force such as kicking, hitting, or pushing. 2 You can stand up for yourself in other ways such as gaining control of the situation or being confident in your actions.

3 It’s definitely not a coward’s response — sometimes it can be harder than losing your temper. Bullies get excited about the reactions they expect, and if you walk away or ignore hurtful emails or instant messages, you’re telling the bully that you just don’t care. 4

5 It may help later to talk to a guidance counselor, teacher or friend — anyone who can give you the support you need. Talking can be a good way to let out the fears and frustration that emerge when you’re being bullied.

A. Talk about it.

B. Don’t take immediate actions. C. Ignore the bully and walk away.

D. Think about ways to feel your best and strongest.

E. But that’s exactly the response he or she is trying to get.

F. Sooner or later the bully will probably get bored with trying to bother you.

G. You are more likely to be hurt and get into trouble if you use violence against a bully. III.

On the morning of the next day, we were taken to see the Bird’s Nest and the Water Cube, the main Olympic stadiums 9 (build)for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. In the afternoon, we were taken to see the Forbidden City, which was one of the most famous 10 (attract). It was

. . he suddenly saw a bandaged man__7___the stadium"可知

be about to

do. . . when. . .

This man ran completely-________, but he didn’t stop"

accompany"陪伴",complete"完成",participate"

fall apart"崩溃",fall down"倒塌",fall away"消失",fall behind"落在……

I will run to the goal"可知,此处表示我有着和他们一样

innocent"无辜的,纯真的";important"重要的";sacred"神圣的";awful"可怕的"。

wildly"失控地,非常",curiously"好奇地",devotedly"全心全意地",excitedly"兴奋地"。

climb"

根据前文中的"yet we should understand not everybody has the ability

impressive"令人赞叹的",remarkable"显著的",obvious"显然的",important"重要的"。

5

4.E 【解析】前一句中的"if you walk away or ignore hurtful emails or instant messages, you’re

telling the bully that you just don’t care"表示要是你在遇到欺凌者时不予以理睬并选择离开,你就是在告诉他或她你不在意。

Talking can be a good way"可知,本段主要说

III.

5.They

6

6.were made

故填were made。 7.where

故填where。 8.amazing

9.built

the main Olympic stadiums与动词build之间是动宾关系,故应用过去分词作定语,相当于一个定语从句"which were built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games"。 10.attractions

由修饰词"one of the most famous"可知,这里用名词而且用复数形式。故填 attractions。
