摘要：The invention provides a base station control device in a communication systemfor selectively allocating a required bandwidth to support communications between afirst and a second node of a wireless communication network via a base station (18), thedevice comprising means (310, 312) for determining a desired bandwidth for a

communication from the first node to the second node; means (312) for allocating thedesired bandwidth in the base station (18) for said communication; and means (314) forblocking a communication from the second node until the base station (18) confirms thatthe desired bandwidth has been allocated for said communication from the first node tothe second node. The invention also provides a method for selectively allocating arequired bandwidth within a base station controller of a communication system.
